DLA / US Navy Approved Connectors, Conduits, Boxes, and More for Topside, Ship-to-Shore and other Harsh Naval Applications
From MIL-PRF-24758A "BlueJacket" Conduit Systems to MIL-DTL-28840 Navy Electrical Connectors
Most navy shipboard interconnect users have simple expectations, such as conduit fittings that don't leak or corrode and will last for the full lifetime of a ship. They want jacket materials that can withstand high heat, extreme UV radiation, demanding weather conditions and caustic chemicals and fluids. They demand fiber optic and electrical connectors that have been U.S. Navy qualified for use, and are immediately available without long-lead times or minimum orders. All this and more is exactly what Glenair delivers to our Navy customers. Glenair offers by far the widest range of shipboard connector and wire protection solutions of any supplier in our industry. And we make all of our solutions, from MIL-PRF-28876 fiber optic connectors to NACSEA-qualified composite junction boxes available for immediate shipment from our same-day shipment inventory.
Glenair's U.S. Navy qualified MIL-PRF-24758A conduit system is a perfect example of our commitment to meeting the needs of our Navy customers. Our shielded brass conduit meets all EMI shielding and surface transfer impedance requirements. Our jacket material, which we've named "BlueJacket" in honor of the dedicated Navy personnel who work with these products in arduous conditions on a daily basis, is a special formula that exceeds all the specifications of MIL-PRF-24758A. These demanding requirements include UV weathering, temperature tolerance, low smoke and toxicity index, flame resistance, and halogen free (IEC754-1) ratings.
And that's not all. Our unique fitting design provides the easiest assembly and the most reliable performance ever in topside conduit systems — no more loosening, no more leaks, no more corrosion, and no more costly replacement of relatively new components that failed to withstand the harsh environmental challenges of shipboard use.
Our broad range of other specialized and qualified Navy / shipboard interconnect solutions are similarly well designed and geared for life-of-ship deployment. We are the only manufacturer worldwide to qualify every slash sheet in the Navy MIL-DTL-28840 connector and backshell accessory series. Our line of MIL-PRF-28876 fiber optic connectors, cables and termini is equally comprehensive. And of course we make and stock all the supporting wire, contacts and tools.
Finally, as an added convenience to our customers, Glenair has partnered with Interstate Connecting Components an authorized distributors specializing in MIL-DTL-28840 Qualified Connectors and Accessories to offer these and other Glenair interconnect technologies for the Naval marketplace.
