Hermetic Connectors in 2 Distinct Categories of Mighty Mouse Micro Miniature Connectors: Glass-to-Metal Seal and CODE RED
Glass-to-metal seal hermetic connectors are designed for use in harsh application environments. Such applications are exposed to severe weather conditions, at high altitudes, under extremes of atmospheric pressure and in rapidly changing temperature gradients and are often subjected to fluid immersion within corrosive substances such as acids and oils. Hermetic connectors are selected for their ability to protect control equipment environments by maintaining an air-tight seal between severe conditions that would otherwise subject sensitive equipment to moisture, air, or corrosive gases.
- Highest reliability, performance and quality
- 10-7 ccHe per sec at 1 atmosphere differential
- Pin and socket PC tail or solder cup contacts
- Coax and Hybrid layouts
- Independent keyed polarization
- Box mount, weld mount and jam-nut mount bulkhead feedthru's
The world of hermetic connectors continues to grow as engineers face the demand for sealed, connectorized solutions pushing the envelope into ever harsher and increasingly challenging environments. To meet these requirements Glenair continues to innovate high performance solutions geared towards mission critical applications. Today, Glenair offers hermetic connectors in 2 distinct categories of Mighty Mouse micro miniature connectors: Glass-to-Metal Seal and Code Red.
- Glass-to-Metal Seal Connectors have long been the gold standard in hermetic sealing. Offering a leak rate performance of 10-7 up to 10-11 wider range of materials, finishes, shell styles and contact support with a growing list of high-speed I/O protocols.
- Glenair CODE RED is a lightweight hermetic sealing encapsulant providing a 20% to 45% weight savings over glass-to-metal seal connectors. This is accomplished by the use of lightweight aluminum shells and standard copper contacts. Additionally, the use of copper contacts instead of Inconel, Kovar or nickel-iron contacts provides a higher current carrying capacity. This innovative encapsulant maintains a leak-rate performance of 10-7 and an operating temperature of -65° C to + 200° C.
