High speed, harsh environment El Ochito® octaxial contacts save size and weight. Suitable for aircraft avionics, weapons systems, satellites, radars, communications equipment and other aerospace/defense gear, El Ochito® contacts are optimized for 40G Ethernet, SuperSpeed USB and other multi-gigabit datalink protocols including HDMI, DisplayPort and SATA. Available discrete contacts and jumper assemblies are readily incorporated into Glenair aerospace-grade circular and rectangular connectors.

El Ochito® contacts are intended for harsh environment military and aerospace data networks. El Ochito® contacts provide up to 50% total weight savings and 20 times faster data rates compared to legacy quadrax-based solutions. These contacts have eight crimp signal pins housed in a machined, gold plated outer contact. El Ochito® octaxial contacts are available in three versions: El Ochito® White for 40GbE Ethernet, El Ochito® Blue for SuperSpeed USB, and El Ochito® Red for multigigabit 100 ohm protocols such as HDMI and SATA.
El Ochito® contacts are compatible with industry standard ARINC 600, EPXB and MIL-DTL-38999 connectors. Contact series is also optimized for Series 816, Series 792 Micro-Crimp Rectangular, Series 23 SuperNine®, micro miniature Series 806 Mil-Aero, and nano miniature circular SuperFly Datalink.

Kit includes portable protective case with cutout foam for tool protection and ease of transportation. Built from Glenair Duralectric D material, the Autoshrink contact follower is fully hydrophobic and resistant to caustic chemicals and solvents. Easy-action spiral hold-out and large cold shrink ratio makes for fast installation and durable, split-resistant performance.

Self-locking. Extra clearance for #8 contacts. 320*030 extender backshell fits Glenair's MIL-DTL-38999 Series III and IV, and Series 806 and 816 Mil-Aero connectors. Extender provides extra clearance for #8 coax, twinax, quadrax and El Ochito octaxial contacts with sealing boots. Back end of extender is identical to connector back end. Attach cable clamp or backshell to extender. Should only be used in conjunction with a saddle bar strain relief. Anti-decoupling mechanism provides audible detented coupling and prevents backoff under high vibration. Aluminum or stainless steel with silicone O-ring. Straight, 45°, and 90°.

Backshell has increased clearance for sealing boots used with size 8 contacts. 45° and 90° profiles have large radius elbows for minimized bending of data cables.
