kV Seal™ High-Voltage Contacts

15 kVDC — 33 kVDC High-Voltage, Low Amperage Insertable / Removable Contacts for High-Voltage DC Circuit Applications

Glenair kV Seal™ contact assemblies (contact plus factory-terminated flying lead) are used in applications such as traveling-wave tube RF amplifier devices, directional radar, missile seekers, fire control systems, and other electronic devices that utilize extremely high voltage circuits in their operation — such as to energize the electron gun in a traveling wave tube. High-voltage DC is used for the excitation and activation of certain electronic elements within these systems.

  • Seals interface air gap
  • Increased breakdown strength at higher altitudes
  • Obstructs interface creep path, increasing breakdown strength against surface tracking
  • Easily-integrated universal design
  • Scalable for various operating voltages

Glenair high-voltage kV Seal contacts are pre-wired contact assemblies (single- or double-ended) designed for immediate, drop-in use in Glenair's signature "better than QPL" SuperNine (D38999 type) connector series. Size #12 kV Seal contacts may be paired with #24 AWG wire for applications requiring 15 kVDC operating voltage. Size #8 kV Seal high-voltage contacts are supplied in five different assembly configurations incorporating size #24, #22, #20, #16, and #12 AWG wire for operating voltages ranging from 12 kVDC to 33 kVDC at 70,000 ft. These insertable / removable high-voltage contact assemblies are made for the complete range of mil-standard 1560 contact arrangements incorporating non-keyed size #12 and/or size #8 contacts.
