Series 970
Series 970 connectors fill the need for a military-grade harsh environment power connector with improved mechanical, environmental and electrical performance. PowerTrip® delivers reduced size and weight compared to lower-density 5015 type power connectors. Featuring triple-start mating threads, crimp rear-release contacts, IP68 environmental sealing, and improved EMI protection, PowerTrip® is ideal for power distribution units, hybrid electric drives, motors, and other high current applications.

Powerline Filters
Powerline filters suited for filtering DC and AC mains services are typically designed to incorporate both common-mode and differential-mode filters (line-to-line). Common mode chokes capable of screening both incoming and outgoing noise and transients are ideally suited for incorporation in Series 970 PowerTrip® filter connectors. All multiple-line filters employ modern filter elements incorporating compensating inductors or coupled chokes. PowerTrip powerline filters are typically supplied as made-to-order (bespoke) solutions. Please contact the factory for application engineering assistance.

240-970 receptacle has planar array ceramic capacitors for Type C filtering. Accessory thread for attaching strain relief clamps, backshells or adapters. Solder cup contacts are non-removable. Series 970 PowerTrip® contacts for size 16 through 2/0 wire. Size 8, 4, 1/0, and 2/0 contacts are high conductivity copper alloy (IACS >90%) with silver or gold plating. Size #12 and #16 contacts are copper alloy with gold finish. Size 2/0, 1/0, 4 and 8 socket contacts feature low resistance, high durability LouverBand springs. Terminate to wire with standard crimp tools. Contacts are snap-in, rear-release and meet the performance requirements of SAE AS39029.
850-311/312 contacts are used to attach PowerTrip connectors directly to bus bars and jumpers. Two contact types: Style A has internal thread, style C has lug. Contacts are compatible with Series 970 PowerTrip connectors. Contacts snap into connector body and can be removed using standard Series 970 insertion/extraction tools. High conductivity copper alloy, gold or silver plated.
Band-Master ATS® Terminate cable braid shield with stainless steel Band-Master ATS® bands. Install band with hand tool or bench-mounted pneumatic tool. Bands are available in three widths: Standard (.24 inch), Micro (.12 inch) and Nano (.075 inch). Slim Standard and Micro Slim bands have reduced thickness for weight reduction. Hardened steel Micro-Max bands have 60% more tensile strength than standard Micro bands. Available flat or pre-coiled, bands are 304 series stainless steel, passivated.
Holding tool prevents rotation of connector when installing backshell or adapter. 3/8" square drive. Fits Series 970 PowerTrip® connectors. Heat-treated steel with nickel plating.
620PS076 heavy-duty clamp fits Glenair Series 970 PowerTrip® connectors. Anti-decoupling mechanism provides audible detented coupling and prevents backoff under high vibration. Saddles have self-locking stainless steel clinch nuts. Rigid dielectric bushing provides additional wire support (not available for all insert patterns). Full radius saddles are intended to be fully closed (bottomed onto frame).
Self-locking, adjustable arms. 870P001 Swing-Arm saddle clamp fits Glenair Series 970 PowerTrip connectors. Use with unshielded wire bundles. Adjustable arms pivot to 0°, 45° or 90° positions. Self-locking hardware. Optional Delrin bushing provides extra wire support. Available in aluminum or stainless steel.
310P*001 shrink boot adapter fits Series 970 PowerTrip Connectors. Use with unshielded cable. Adapter has groove for lipped shrink boot. Self-locking coupling nut has ratchet mechanism to prevent loosening under vibration. Supplied as adapter only or with shrink boot. Aluminum or stainless steel, silicone O-ring, thermoplastic ratchet spring. SST adapter has SST ratchet spring.
770-003S heatshrink boot provides strain relief and environmental protection. Shape-memory polymer returns to as-molded shape when heat is applied. Boot has “lip” to fit into adapter boot groove. Semi-rigid high performance elastomer or non-halogenated flame-retartant polyolefin for use where limited fire hazard is required.

Self-Locking 809-532 jam nut fits Series 970 receptacles. Jam nut has three Vespel® inserts installed with RTV sealant. Originally used on manned space vehicles, this jam nut eliminates the need for safety wire or threadlocking compound. Nut has groove for attaching a tether if required.
