Instant Sales and Marketing Information

  www.glenair.com features an electronic version of Glenair’s Complete Capability Brochure, and an “Interconnect Product Showcase” containing data sheets for the entire Glenair product line.  “Publishing our brochures and data sheets in HTML (the language of the Internet) allows us to do a number of things we couldn’t do with

paper,” explains Chris Toomey, Executive Vice-President. “First of all, we can link the short product descriptions in the brochure to other more complete explanations; so that if a customer or partner sees something they are interested in, they can instantly access more information with just a click of the mouse.  Second, we can now provide our partners with the ability to print out (faxable) copies of our marketing information for their own local use.  Third, we can update the electronic information instantly—

enabling us to promote new products faster than ever before.  For Glenair, this is really the first time we have been able to provide, all in one place and with one consistent format,  a complete library of product information for all the products and services we sell.”

Taking Stock

  One of the most exciting elements of the new web site is the on-line data base of Glenair’s 40,000 part number “Same-Day Delivery” inventory.  Customers and partners alike are now able to query Glenair’s Same-Day inventory data base for both Mil-Spec and commercial part numbers to determine availability and stocking levels.  Bill

Manise of MTR Technologies has found the on-line inventory extremely useful:  “My inside sales staff use it daily as they work their accounts.  There’s nothing like being able to check the actual inventory stocking levels for the components they need to quickly close a sale.”

Swing your Partner

  As part of Glenair’s commitment to the ongoing success of its independent sales representatives and distributors, a significant part of the web site is devoted to promoting and marketing the Glenair worldwide sales channel.  “Glenair Partner Pages” have been developed for every sales representative and distributor worldwide.  The Partner Pages, and the handy pull-down geographic locators found in the “Worldwide Sales and Service” area, are designed to help our partners promote their own businesses and services.  Using a handy submission form, partners may post additional sales, marketing and company information to their Glenair Partner Page to create their own mini web site.  “Glenair is essentially offering its worldwide network of sales and distribution partners the opportunity to promote their businesses on the Internet at Glenair’s expense.  It’s a great example of Glenair’s win-win business philosophy in action,” says Ken Block, Vice President, Interconnect Products, Avnet. 

  The “Worldwide Sales and Service” area also provides marketing exposure for Glenair’s international offices in Europe and Japan.  Each Glenair office is supported with complete contact information and, over time, will feature additional specialized information for each local market.

QwikConnect Live

  QwikConnect, Glenair’s popular quarterly magazine, has also gone “live” on www.glenair.com.   Each new issue will be added to the Glenair web site in a special password protected area intended for the exclusive use of our worldwide family of

employees, representatives and distributors.  As this on-line QwikConnect library grows, the site will become a valuable reference library for our partners in the worldwide interconnect industry.
