Ready-to-use shield sock adapters take the pain out of EMI shield termination Backshells accept shrink boots for additional environmental and mechanical protection These adapters have a shield sock attached to the rear of the adapter body, the method of shield attachment is usually acomplished by means of crimping although other methods such as Band-itŪ band, soldering, magna-forming or TinelŪ locking system are also all supplied by Glenair. This shield sock is then attached to the overall braid on the cable or harness. This attachment is most generally performed by the use of a MIL-C-85049/93 back-up ring and then banding the over-lapped braids together.
